Summer Reading Program 2025

"Level up at Your Library"

​Get ready to “Level Up at the Library” with Fossil Public Library’s 2025 Summer Reading Program!
Play is one of the ways we learn to relate to others, to think in new ways, and to foster friendships new and old. Level Up at Your Library is an all-ages summer reading program based around puzzles and games. Whether you’re playing with STEM concepts or gamifying reading logs, learning to play chess or how to play some of the popular role playing games. Our program reminds us that libraries are not just a space for knowledge, they are a space for fun.

 The Fossil Public Library will hold separate sessions for 3 age groups each week July 9th-August 8th. 

 Middle and High School Wednesdays 10AM to Noon 

 Pre-k through 2nd grade Thursdays  10 to 11 AM

 3rd through 5th grade Fridays at 10 to 11 AM 

Special Event: Power Play For the Planet – Thursday, July 17 at 10 am. Fossil Grade School Gym
Oregon Museum of Natural and Cultural History (University of Oregon).

​Kicking off on Saturday, June 14th,  10 AM  to 1 PM. Join us for a fun-filled event at Arthur Glover Memorial Park( Fossil City Park), where families can enjoy a variety of games and activities for all ages and sign- up for the reading program that begins July 9th . ​

POWER PLAY FOR THE PLANET
Saving planet Earth together can be loads of fun! Join us to play games, solve puzzles, and tackle wacky challenges. The whole family will enjoy 
The Power Play for the Planet program is targeted for a family audience with elementary age children and is presented by a museum educator. The program includes a short and lively presentation (20-25 minutes) followed by activity tables offering a variety of fun, hands-on activities.
Fossil Library will be collaborating with the Museum of Natural and Cultural History to bring this interactive event July 17th, 2025 @ 10 AM in the Fossil Grade School Gymnasium

Libraries of Eastern Oregon is shifting the cultural Pass Program from physical to an Online reservation system. The current system has access to ​
  • Columbia Gorge Museum
  • High Desert Museum
  • Maryhill Museum of Art
  • OMSI
  • Oregon State Parks (pass is a parking permit covering parking/day use fees)
